With New years having come and gone, I finally now have the time to sit and reflect on how I spent 2010. It seems like every January I go through this week or two of reflection and think about how the next year can be better, different, more productive or whatever. I've been typing this up for awhile, but I finally got it uploaded to my blog.
So here it is: Katie-Neverending, year in review
2010
January: The Boy's first birthday! Cookie monster cupcake and all. (check my archives if you want to see pics!) The party went great, the boy smeared blue frosting all over himself and his highchair and the kids had fun.
February: A little blah this year. Spent most of it looking for work and trying to coach my 13 month old in how to walk.
March: Tax refund was a welcome surprise this year (the amount that is) and it made life a bit tolerable as my debt went down a smidge and I was able to purchase one thing for myself. My ipod touch! I still use this thing everyday and I don't regret buying it, EVER! Seriously my ipod and i have quite the exclusive relationship going on.
April: This was the first Easter that The Boy was really able to participate in. He had fun hunting for his plastic eggs and digging all the surprises out of his easter basket. This was also the month when my unemployment stopped due to budget woes in the state/country.
May: Another month of being broke, looking desperately for work.
June: Summer arrived and fortunately small children are a still a joy even when you have no money. The Boy managed to be giggly every warm day thanks to a $5 inflatable pool and floating toys.
July: Unemployment reinstated, thank the good Lord! Things were starting to get bleak in the finances area.
August:Got hired!!! Hallelujah!! Finally landed a full time job. The hourly pay isn't the best, but it's full time and at a good store.
September: Turned 30. Not my happiest birthday, but not the worst either. My dad stepped up and made sure that a trip to the ocean and BBQed oysters made the decade transition a little easier.
October: The first Halloween that The Boy really participated in. Dressed as "Bones" he stomped to a few houses on our street and asked for candy. :)
November: Thanksgiving, as always filled with food and fun.
December: What I thought was going to be a sparse Christmas (due to bills and $$ issues) ended up being full of miracles. So many people pitched in to give The Boy and I a wonderful Christmas that I won't be forgetting for some time!
there it is :my 2010 in a nutshell.
Here's hoping that 2011 will go better!
